Customs Commissioner Tennyson Bio stressed the critical importance of banking institutions in facilitating trade and building public trust, urging partners to ensure that every transaction is properly monitored, reported, and accounted for.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Deputy Director of Finance, Christian Alex Kamara, outlined the NRA\u2019s push for stronger reporting mechanisms, calling for banks to support the process by granting controlled access to core banking platforms, submitting daily digital and hard-copy collection reports, and working closely with NRA reconciliation teams. He emphasized the need for a seamless, real-time revenue tracking system that supports fiscal accountability and reduces delays.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The NRA also introduced a package of reforms aimed at modernizing revenue operations, including real-time transaction tracking, expanded access to banking applications, and tighter collaboration between clearing agents and their clients. These measures are expected to enhance oversight and speed up revenue transfers to the Consolidated Revenue Fund.<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The proposals were well received by stakeholders, with ACFA and banking officials expressing their full support for reforms that promote mutual accountability and operational efficiency.
