He recalled that when QCell entered Sierra Leone in 2019, many doubted its ability to thrive in the market. However, he said the company has proven its resilience, with visible projects and readily available services across the country. Emphasising that communication is now a basic necessity, Mansaray urged QCell to continue delivering quality and affordable services to the people of Sierra Leone.

Minister of Communications, Technology, and Innovation, Madam Salima Bah, commended QCell for its initiative to directly engage with residents. She noted that running a telecommunications company is challenging—especially in a competitive and capital-intensive market.

“That is why many companies have come and gone. But since QCell entered the market, they have not only survived but performed impressively,” she said.

Madam Bah credited QCell with fostering healthy competition in the telecom sector, giving customers more choice. She also raised concerns about theft at telecom sites—particularly cable theft—and urged communities to safeguard investor assets. “If you want development, you must protect investors’ property. This will give them the confidence to invest more in the country,” she added. The Minister further appealed to QCell to keep tariffs affordable so subscribers can remain connected for both personal and productive purposes.

QCell Sierra Leone CEO, Karthik Jayamani, thanked the people of Kambia for their warm reception and strong support. Describing QCell as a “listening company,” he stressed the importance of staying close to customers, hearing their concerns, and improving services accordingly.

Since launching operations in 2019, Jayamani said QCell has built towers across Sierra Leone, using green energy at most sites to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 service—even in remote areas. “Telecom service is no longer a luxury—it is a necessity that should have no boundaries,” he said.

He announced that QCell is expanding its network nationwide and is in the final stages of upgrading to a 5G network, which will significantly boost internet speeds and improve call quality, including in rural communities.

QCell-SL, Sierra Leone’s fastest-growing telecommunications company, held a town hall meeting on Saturday, 9th August…

[1

post-2194","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
