Leone and Release by Scatec for the deployment of a 40MW fast-track power plant in Kamakwie, Karene District, as a significant breakthrough in the country’s pursuit of energy sovereignty.

The project, expected to be commissioned by the second quarter of 2026, aligns with Sierra Leone’s ambitious Mission 300 initiative, which seeks to deliver 1.7GW of new generation capacity by 2030.

Dr. Yumkella commended the partnership forged with Scatec, emphasizing that the project represents a major step toward achieving Sierra Leone’s national energy goals.

<blockquote class="wp-block-quote
