UBA Sierra Leone on Saturday, 1st November 2025, held its induction and orientation session<\/strong> for newly recruited employees, including graduates from the recently concluded Graduate Management Acceleration Programme (GMAP)<\/strong>. The event took place at the bank\u2019s Head Office Conference Room on Charlotte Street, Freetown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Welcoming the new staff, Managing Director\/Chief Executive Officer, Mohamed Alhajie Samoura<\/strong>, underscored the importance of having the right people to drive the bank\u2019s vision and mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe don\u2019t just need people \u2014 we need the right<\/em> people to help us achieve our overall objectives,\u201d he stated. \u201cWe are also internal customers of the bank, because when we get it right inside, we can satisfy customers outside. It\u2019s never done until the customer says \u2018thank you.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In his remarks, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Ngede Chiedu<\/strong>, congratulated the new hires and urged them to uphold the values of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork, reminding them that every staff member represents UBA at all times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Millicent Yormah<\/strong>, Country Head of Human Capital Management, took participants through the bank\u2019s general code of conduct and dress ethics. She encouraged them to consistently project the right image of UBA through discipline, decorum, and adherence to corporate standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on \u201cLiving the Brand,\u201d<\/strong> Sallieu Sesay<\/strong>, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, highlighted the dos and don\u2019ts of communication within and outside the bank. He urged employees to take ownership of the UBA brand and to act as true ambassadors in every engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives from key departments\u2014including Country Chief Inspectorate, Treasury, Financial Control, Credit and Risk, Internal Control<\/strong>, among others\u2014also delivered presentations, giving the new employees valuable insights into their operations and contributions toward achieving UBA Sierra Leone\u2019s strategic goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delivering the vote of thanks<\/strong>, Mohamed Koroma<\/strong>, one of the new recruits, expressed appreciation to management and facilitators for the impactful session. He reaffirmed the collective commitment of the new hires to contribute meaningfully to the bank\u2019s continued growth and success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To conclude the session, the Human Capital Management (HCM)<\/strong> and Marketing and Corporate Communications (MCC)<\/strong> departments presented welcome packages<\/strong> containing branded UBA items to all participants, marking a warm start to their journey with the bank.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
