Deputy Finance Minister Nominee Jenneh Jabati Faces Parliamentary Vetting

Ms. Jenneh Jabati, nominee for the position of Deputy Minister 2 of Finance, appeared before the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments and the Public Service to respond to questions regarding her qualifications and vision for the role.

During the vetting session, Ms. Jabati emphasized her 37-year career with the Bank of Sierra Leone, highlighting her extensive experience in the financial sector as key preparation for the deputy ministerial role.

“I believe in teamwork and achieving effective results,” she told the committee, expressing her readiness to work in close partnership with the Minister of Finance to deliver on the ministry’s goals.

Describing herself as “a woman of integrity,” Ms. Jabati affirmed her commitment to ethical standards and regulatory compliance. In response to questions about her leadership style, she stated that her decisions would be informed by sound judgment and situational analysis.

She also noted her strong administrative skills, pledging to contribute meaningfully to national economic growth and fiscal stability.

Ms. Jabati’s vetting is part of the broader effort to establish a capable, transparent leadership team at the Ministry of Finance. Her approval, along with other appointees, is expected in the Parliamentary Chamber on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
