Hon. Tengbeh Calls for Public Support Following MCC Agreement Ratification

Winning the MCC from the U.S. government marks a significant milestone for President Bio’s administration. Hon. Ing Fallah Kenawah Tengbeh, the Member of Parliament for Kailahun District, emphasized that securing the MCC is a notable achievement for the government following the ratification of the agreement between Sierra Leone and the United States.

Representing the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Hon. Tengbeh highlighted the $480 million funding aimed at enhancing the country’s energy sector. He noted that the much-anticipated Bunbuna Hydro Project will also see improvements, positioning Sierra Leone as a leader in electricity supply within the subregion once completed.

As Deputy Chairman of the Water Resources Committee in Parliament, Hon. Tengbeh also pointed out the inclusion of connectivity in the MCC agreement. He concluded by urging the people of Sierra Leone to support the implementation of these projects and expressed gratitude to the leadership of Parliament, the Minister of Finance, the Vice President, and President Julius Maada Bio for their contributions to this achievement.
