LRMG Commits $50,000 to Feed Salone Agriculture Project in Pujehun

Pujehun District, Sierra Leone – December 1, 2024 – In a significant move to support the Government of Sierra Leone’s Big Five Game Changers initiative, LRMG has committed $50,000 to Transform Pujehun District, a prominent youth-led organization dedicated to community development in one of Sierra Leone’s most underserved areas. The donation aims to empower local youth and boost key developmental projects in agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure.

As part of this contribution, Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, former Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, officially presented $20,000 at the Youth District Council Hall in Pujehun District. This donation is specifically allocated to support the Feed Salone agriculture project, which is designed to improve food security, promote sustainable farming practices, and enhance local agricultural productivity.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis expressed his gratitude to LRMG for its generous contribution, which he described as an essential step toward building a more sustainable and prosperous future for the district. He emphasized the importance of youth-driven initiatives and how such projects could create long-lasting positive change in the region.

“The government’s Big Five Game Changers initiative aims to drive critical development across Sierra Leone, and partnerships like this one with LRMG are key to its success,” said Hon. Tunis. “The Feed Salone project is a perfect example of how targeted investments in agriculture can improve livelihoods, reduce poverty, and support the next generation of leaders in our communities.”

The Feed Salone agriculture project will provide farmers with the resources and training needed to increase agricultural yields and implement modern farming techniques. The project also aims to address food insecurity by encouraging local food production and fostering self-sufficiency, thus reducing the district’s reliance on imported goods.
