Africell Sierra Leone has reaffirmed its commitment to community engagement by supporting thousands of Muslims in Freetown and across the provinces during this year’s Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations on March 31, 2025.

As worshippers gathered to mark the end of Ramadan, Africell provided over 14,000 bottles of water, date palm fruits, and sound systems to enhance the prayer experience at various locations nationwide. The initiative, part of Africell’s broader Ramadan support program, aimed to foster unity and goodwill within the community.

A Commitment to Giving Back

Speaking on the initiative, Abdul Karim Sesay, Media Manager at Africell Sierra Leone, underscored the company’s dedication to supporting the people of Sierra Leone beyond its business operations.

“Throughout the month of Ramadan, we have been actively supporting our Muslim brothers and sisters through rice distribution and a special Ramadan TV show. Now, as we conclude the Holy Month, we want to continue our support during this significant moment of prayer,” Sesay said.

He emphasized that Africell takes pride in giving back to the community and remains committed to making a meaningful impact.

“While we are a business entity, we believe in connecting with and supporting the community. It’s something we take pride in, and we will continue to contribute to meaningful causes whenever possible,” he added.

A Warm Reception from the Muslim Community

Africell’s gesture was warmly received, with many worshippers expressing gratitude for the company’s support. Several community leaders and attendees also called on other corporate entities to follow Africell’s example by promoting inclusivity and social responsibility.

Through initiatives like these, Africell Sierra Leone continues to set a benchmark for corporate responsibility, reinforcing its dedication to both its customers and the wider community.
