Africell Sierra Leone on Friday, 9 January 2026, crowned Amidu Kamara as the grand prize winner of a fully built residential house at TAF Salone Micro City, Freetown, marking the peak of the company’s Jubilee Jingle Promotion held in celebration of Africell’s 25 years of operations across Africa.
The house presentation ceremony, which attracted Africell management, partners, regulators, members of the media, and shortlisted qualifiers from across the country, underscored the telecom giant’s commitment to rewarding customer loyalty through a transparent and credible process. Africell officials explained that the promotion was deliberately designed to reflect the significance of the company’s 25-year milestone in Africa and more than two decades of service to Sierra Leoneans.
Management disclosed that the Jubilee Jingle Promotion officially commenced in April 2025 and ran consistently through December 2025, leveraging multiple platforms to ensure nationwide participation and transparency. These included daily television and radio activations, social media livestreams, newspaper publications, and public draws conducted in full view of stakeholders. According to Africell, credibility and openness were central to the promotion, with every stage designed as a “clean game,” free from manipulation or hidden conditions.
Throughout the promotion period, a total of 2,822 customers reportedly won daily prizes across the country, while weekly draws rewarded up to five winners with high-value items such as Samsung smartphones, power generators, and motorbikes. Customers earned points simply by using Africell services, with airtime recharges accumulating points and AfriMoney transactions earning double points, thereby increasing chances of winning without any additional requirements.

Delivering remarks at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Africell Sierra Leone, Shadi First, emphasized that the promotion was first and foremost about the customers. He described the qualifiers as the most important people in the celebration, thanking them for their loyalty, trust, and consistent support over the past 25 years. He noted that while the Jubilee marked a milestone anniversary, Africell’s culture of rewarding customers would continue beyond commemorative periods, extending into its 26th, 27th, and even 50th year in Africa.
Shadi First reaffirmed that Africell is a customer-centric company that places subscribers at the heart of every decision. He explained that new promotions and services are evaluated based on their direct value to customers. While acknowledging that it may not always be possible to satisfy every customer at all times, he stressed Africell’s commitment to continuous improvement, particularly in data services, internet connectivity, and nationwide coverage.
He also highlighted Africell’s broader social responsibility initiatives, referencing the recent launch of Kizunet, a child-protection internet service designed to help parents restrict access to harmful online content for children and teenagers. According to him, the service aligns with national child-protection laws and was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education and the Ministry of Communication, Technology and Innovation.
On the house draw, Africell management stressed that the process was simple, open, and verifiable. Names of qualifiers were printed, publicly confirmed, folded, and placed into a transparent box in full view of attendees. Representatives of credible institutions were present to observe the process, after which a single name was randomly selected. The winner, Amidu Kamara, was immediately announced and handed the keys to the house on the spot.
Africell clarified that the house came with no conditions attached. The winner is free to occupy, rent, or sell the property at his discretion. There were no contracts to sign, no future obligations, and no additional requirements beyond participation in the promotion through normal Africell usage.

Also speaking at the event, Africell acknowledged the support of Africell Group leadership, AfriMoney management, and TAF Salone Micro City, particularly its proprietor, Mr. Sanjay, for providing the estate and partnering to turn an ordinary customer’s dream into reality. Management described the housing development as a growing community set to benefit from future infrastructure, including commercial centers, service stations, and improved access roads.
As Africell officially handed over the keys to Amidu Kamara, the company reaffirmed its promise that “when we talk, we do,” encouraging customers to continue using Africell services and AfriMoney with confidence. The company also hinted at more promotions, expanded network coverage, and new customer-focused initiatives lined up for 2026 and beyond, as it continues to celebrate loyalty and invest in national development.
