MELSS–Immigration Partnership Drives Efficiency
Freetown – In a landmark display of administrative progress and collaborative governance, the Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security (MELSS), together with the Immigration Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, has showcased a significant step forward in public service delivery.
“What you are seeing here today is a true demonstration of progressive leadership by the Ministry of Employment, Labour and Social Security, and also the Immigration Department in the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” said Prince C. Kamara. “It has been a long journey with respect to the utilization process of the unified system, ratified by Parliament. And we are now seeing the true testimonies of what it means to have a real deal that is not only good for both ministries but for the country as a whole.”
The remarks came during an official ceremony highlighting the implementation of a new unified administrative system, aimed at enhancing efficiency, transparency, and collaboration between the two government entities. The initiative is expected to streamline operations, improve service delivery to citizens, and set a standard for accountability and professionalism in Sierra Leone’s public institutions.
Commissioner of Labour, Sianeh Bockarie, emphasized that the adoption of this system marks a pivotal moment for both ministries.
