Aiah Edward Samadia Appointed as Deputy IG of Police Amid Widespread Acclaim

On July 31st, the Sierra Leone Police Council appointed one of its most distinguished officers, Mr. Aiah Edward Samadia, as the new Deputy Inspector General of Police. With over 40 years of service in the Sierra Leone Police Force, Mr. Samadia now steps into the role of the second-highest-ranking officer in the force.

His appointment comes at a critical time, as the region he will help oversee is regarded by security experts as “the most troubled and crime-prone” in Sierra Leone. This challenge underscores the significance of Mr. Samadia’s new position and the trust placed in him to maintain law and order in these difficult areas.

Mr. Samadia’s appointment has quickly become a hot topic across the country, with many citizens and colleagues expressing that he is truly deserving of this position. The decision to elevate Mr. Samadia to Deputy Inspector General of Police was made by the Sierra Leone Police Council, chaired by His Excellency the President and the Vice President.
