On the 12th of June, 2024, the Parliamentary Account Committee conducted a public hearing on the Auditor General report in the administrative building of Parliament.
During the hearing, Rokel Commercial Bank was vindicated in relation to the issue of duplicated user IDs identified in the Auditor General’s Report 2022. The Committee, led by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, acknowledged that the bank had effectively resolved the issue of nine duplicate user IDs, as highlighted in the 2022 report.
The Auditor General’s Report 2022 had flagged the existence of duplicated users IDs on the core banking application, particularly in the users’ list for the X_100 banking application. In response, the management of Rokel Commercial Bank, represented by Emmanuel Borbor, emphasized that users with duplicate actions in the system were not deleted but rather moved to the permanent deactivating category. Additionally, users who transitioned from a contractual status to permanent staff were assigned an ID starting with ‘C,’ which then transitioned to a new ID starting with ‘P’ upon becoming permanent staff, thereby deactivating the old ID.
Following a scrutiny process, the duplicate user ID issues were amicably resolved. In light of this, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament commended Rokel Commercial Bank for its effective banking system and encouraged them to continue their efforts, suggesting that their exemplary service might be recognized with an award from the President in the future.
