Freetown, Sierra Leone — Wednesday, 8th October 2025: The United Bank for Africa (UBA) Sierra Leone on Wednesday held a colourful and interactive customer appreciation event at its Charlotte Street branch in Freetown as part of the global observance of Customer Service Week.
The event brought together customers, staff, media representatives, and senior management to celebrate the vital role customers play in the bank’s continued success.
Welcoming guests, UBA’s Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Mr. Sallieu, expressed heartfelt appreciation to customers for their trust and loyalty, reaffirming the bank’s dedication to delivering quality services and ensuring customer satisfaction.
“We are here to serve you. We are here to make sure you are safe. We value your feedback because it helps us know where to improve,” he said.
Mr. Sallieu emphasized that Customer Service Week is more than a formality—it is a genuine opportunity for the bank to engage directly with its customers, listen to their concerns, and celebrate their loyalty.
“We know we are not perfect, but we will continue to improve in all areas to ensure you are satisfied with our services. Every comment, suggestion, and concern you share helps us grow,” he added.
He further noted that UBA remains committed to making its products and services easily accessible to customers nationwide.

“When we introduce new products or services, we make sure they are launched in a way that ensures easy access for both our customers and the wider public. UBA stands for inclusivity, convenience, and innovation,” he explained.
Highlighting the global importance of the celebration, he stressed that customer service is a continuous commitment, not a one-time event.
“Customer service is not a one-week celebration; it is a culture and a way of life. At UBA, we believe in international best practices, and that means customer service should be a daily habit,” he concluded.
Speaking on behalf of management, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of UBA Sierra Leone said the week serves as a reminder of the bank’s mission to place customers at the centre of its operations.
“This week is special because it reminds us that our customers are the reason we exist. Without them, there would be no UBA. This celebration is our way of saying thank you and reaffirming our promise to serve you better,” she stated.
She reaffirmed management’s commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
“We want UBA to feel like a second home for our customers. Whether you visit our branches, use our mobile app, or engage through digital channels, we want you to feel valued and respected,” she said.
Several customers, including Madam Isatu and Mr. Mohamed, commended UBA for its reliability, innovation, and excellent customer care.

“UBA is one of the biggest and most trusted banks in Sierra Leone. Their services are convenient, and the staff are always welcoming,” one customer noted.
The event’s highlight was a raffle draw, where customers won exciting prizes, including food items, drinks, milk, caps, pens, and books. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement as winners expressed their gratitude to the bank.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Sallieu thanked attendees for their continued support and encouraged customers to keep sharing feedback to help UBA serve them better. The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, photo sessions, and the distribution of appreciation gifts.
Through this celebration, UBA Sierra Leone once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, innovation, and service excellence—values that have made it one of the most trusted and respected financial institutions in the country.
