Octopus Group Handover Land to Mongegba for Construction of Hospital.
Octopus Group had on Monday, 12th June, 2024 handed over a piece of land to the Mongegba Community, Western Area Rural District for the construction of a modern hospital.
The percel measures approximately two (2) plots and it situated or located at the above mentioned area.
Identifying pressing need of a health care center which will serve residents effectively, the community Headman, Abu Sesay emphasized on their happiness to have a humanitarian engagement with the Manager for the Octopus Group, Mr. Rajie Saad and team, noting that the complete absence of a health care facility at his area of command is posing serious health challenges, especially among vulnerable women during the process of giving birth.
Headman Sesay maintained that the meeting aimed at showcasing health challenges face by members of his community on a regular basis as a result of the absolute absence of a health care facility among what Mr. Sesay tagged as a growing population.
Sesay deliberated lengthily on the community’s desire to have a functionable hospital for the purpose of saving lives.
Mr. Sesay recalled that two pregnant women delivered bouncing babies on the way to the Charlotte community health care facility.
Handing over the donated piece of land official documents, the Manager for Octopus Group, Rajie Saad said in order to facilitate the transfer of ownership, he had enclosed the necessary documents, including the title deed and a recent survey of the property and discussed about his serious business plans for the community.
Mr. Rajie Saad spoke about his desire to leave a lasting legacy for the Mongegba Community and his business partners
“By God’s/Allah’s willingness and grace, we are now officially handing over the property to the community”, those were the exact remarks of Rajie Saad and commented strongly that he had engaged officials at the Ministry of Lands to make sure that the allocated piece of land is used judiciously for it intended purpose.
Speaking on behalf of fellow women, Madam Jennifer said they as women are in desperate need of a health care facility at the designated community and butressed that the lack of land space over the years for the construction of a hospital at the vicinity was a serious or major challenge among stakeholders.
She discussed on the vulnerability among pregnant women during the process of giving birth and appealed to Rajie Saad to continue be their aid or helper for the fact that he had started wiping out tears on their faces through the humanitarian donation of land to the community for the construction of a health center.
The Youth Leader for the deprived Mongegba community, Abdul Kamara said Mr. Rajie Saad had contributed positively to the priority need of poor residents and expressed happiness that Mr. Saad is working tirelessly to leave an indelible mark for the community and his company.
He pointed out that the growing community currently comprised over three thousand inhabitants and talked about the health risk for a community of over 3,000 to go without a hospital. He concluded that women and children are the highest victims when a community is going without an improving or modern health care system.
