UBA Global Celebrates 75 Years with Major Legacy Promo Launch Honoring Customer Loyalty and Innovation

United Bank for Africa (UBA) marked a significant milestone on Friday, celebrating 75 years of global operations alongside its 15-year presence in Sierra Leone. The dual anniversary was commemorated with the launch of the “UBA Legacy Promo” at the bank’s head office on Charlotte Street, Freetown, signaling UBA’s ongoing commitment to customer loyalty and innovation in the financial sector.
The event was introduced by Sallieu, UBA’s Head of Communication, who highlighted the significance of the promotion in the broader context of the bank’s history. “As we celebrate 75 years globally and 15 years here in Sierra Leone, this promo serves as our way of expressing gratitude to our customers. It’s a celebration of the trust and support that have driven our success,” Sallieu stated.
The UBA Legacy Promo is designed to reward 60 customers with cash prizes, reinforcing the bank’s dedication to its clientele. Chief Operating Officer Chiedu Ngene emphasized that this promotion is a central feature of the anniversary celebrations. “Our legacy is built on the relationships we’ve cultivated over the years. This promo is not just about prizes; it’s about giving back to those who have journeyed with us,” Ngene remarked.
During the event, Ngene also discussed UBA’s pioneering role in Sierra Leone’s financial landscape, including the introduction of AI-driven account opening via WhatsApp and the installation of the first ATM in West Africa. He encouraged customers to explore UBA’s diverse account options, such as the UBA Sharp Sharp account, designed to make banking more accessible.
Christiana Saio Lamina, Head of Retail Banking, officially launched the promo, detailing its structure. The promotion offers three prize tiers: Le10,000 for twenty winners, Le5,000 for another twenty, and Le2,500 for twenty more. The draws are scheduled for September and December, with participation based on deposit thresholds that increase the chances of winning.
Lamina emphasized the enduring legacy UBA aims to build with its customers, stating, “This promo is about more than just rewards; it’s about reinforcing the bonds we’ve created and ensuring that our customers feel valued.”
As UBA celebrates its 75th global anniversary, the Legacy Promo stands as a testament to the bank’s ongoing innovation, customer-centric approach, and its significant impact on Sierra Leone’s financial sector. The event underscored UBA’s dedication to continuing its tradition of excellence and service in the years to come.
