Ensuring Safe Water Access SALWACO Collaborates with International NGO INSTIGLIO

The Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) has warmly welcomed INSTIGLIO, an international non-governmental organization (NGO), for a collaborative assessment of its operations, aimed at enhancing the quality of water service delivery across the country.

This significant trip commenced in Bo on Monday, September 23, 2024, and is set to continue in the cities of Kenema and Makeni. The assessment is part of SALWACO’s ongoing efforts to improve its services and ensure that communities have reliable access to clean water.

INSTIGLIO is dedicated to accelerating social impact through partnerships with governments and global development organizations. The organization believes that the future of our rapidly changing world hinges on achieving greater social outcomes, particularly in essential services like water and sanitation.

The mission of INSTIGLIO focuses on transforming global development effectiveness by employing results-based approaches that drive impactful initiatives. Their strategy involves redirecting large-scale funding toward innovative solutions, promoting the use of evidence-based practices, and strengthening delivery systems to ensure sustainable development.

Key stakeholders attended the meeting in Bo, including Apostle Dr. Albert Harrisson Harvey, Deputy Managing Director of SALWACO; Ing. Abdul Ben Lebbie, Director of Operations and Regional Manager for the South; and the Station Manager of Bo, among others. Their presence underscores the commitment of SALWACO to engage with experts and leverage external insights for improved service delivery.

This collaboration is poised to create meaningful change in the water sector, ultimately benefiting communities throughout Sierra Leone by ensuring that access to clean and safe water becomes a reality for all.
