Deputy Speaker of Parliament Holds Talks with NaCSA Chief

The Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Sierra Leone, Hon. Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, engaged with Ambassador Chief Ernest Baimba Ndomahina, Commissioner of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), on Monday, July 8, 2024, at the Parliament Building in Freetown.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the need for the Western Area to benefit from NaCSA’s projects and activities aimed at poverty reduction.
In his remarks, the Deputy Speaker acknowledged NaCSA’s contributions to the country’s development and highlighted that most of the Commission’s projects, especially those supported by the World Bank and other international organizations, are being implemented in the provinces. He expressed his desire for NaCSA to implement more projects in the Western Area. “Most of the social safety net projects of the Commission are being implemented in the provinces,” he stated.
The Deputy Speaker called on the Commissioner to reposition and consider NaCSA’s projects for implementation in the Western Area. He emphasized the need to include the Western Area in the Commission’s Work Plan for future projects.
In response, the Commissioner of NaCSA promised to consider the Deputy Speaker’s request in their future Work Plan and activities.
