The Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) has restored water supply to the city of Makeni in Northern Sierra Leone, following a period of disruption. The water outage, which had left the township without water for several days, was caused by a breakdown at the SALWACO facility located at the Wusum Treatment Plant.
In response to the crisis, the leadership of SALWACO, under the direction of Managing Director Ing. George Lamin Vandi and Deputy Managing Director Apostle Dr. Albert Harrison Harvey, mobilized a team of engineers and top management officials to address the issue. This emergency water resuscitation plan was swiftly put into action to alleviate the water shortage in Makeni.
The team, led by SALWACO’s Director of Operations Ing. Abdul Ben Lebbie and Maintenance Manager Ing. Abu Kallon, who also serves as the Acting Head of Maintenance, worked in close coordination with the SALWACO team in Makeni. The local team was headed by Ing. Emmanuel Bayoh, the Station Manager.
