Nationwide NASSIT Biometric Campaign Enhances Efficiency and Transparency

Chief Minister of Sierra Leone, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, has successfully completed his biometric registration with the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) in Freetown. The registration process is part of a nationwide initiative to modernize and strengthen Sierra Leone’s social security system, ensuring all citizens have up-to-date and accurate data.
Speaking after completing the process, Dr. Sengeh emphasized the critical role of biometric registration in enhancing the efficiency and reliability of NASSIT’s services. He also urged all Sierra Leoneans to prioritize their participation in the ongoing registration campaign.
“It is imperative that every Sierra Leonean takes part in this biometric registration to ensure their data is accurately captured,” Dr. Sengeh said. “This step is vital for strengthening the social security services that will support us throughout our lives, particularly in times of need. By participating, we contribute to building a more transparent and effective system for everyone.”
The Director General of NASSIT, Mohamed Fuaad Daboh, expressed gratitude for Dr. Sengeh’s active involvement, describing it as a significant endorsement of the initiative. “The Chief Minister’s participation sends a powerful message to the public about the importance of this process. It sets a clear example of leadership and reinforces the need for all citizens to engage in updating their records,” Daboh remarked.
NASSIT’s biometric registration campaign aims to streamline its operations, ensuring accurate data collection and timely disbursement of social security benefits. The modernization effort will help reduce administrative errors, prevent fraud, and improve the overall user experience for contributors.
The campaign is ongoing and accessible at various NASSIT offices across Sierra Leone. Citizens are encouraged to participate by visiting their nearest NASSIT office, where trained personnel are available to assist with the registration process.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to transparency, efficiency, and accountability in serving the people of Sierra Leone,” Daboh added. “It’s not just about updating records; it’s about building a stronger, more reliable foundation for social security in our country.” For further information or assistance, individuals can visit any NASSIT office or access details on the official NASSIT website. The biometric registration drive is a crucial step in ensuring that Sierra Leoneans are adequately supported by a robust social security system in the years to come
